So excited! At the Calgary airport and heading to Paris for a week. Springtime in Paris! Check that off the bucket list! Feel such a strong pull to be exploring this incredible city. No real plans other than to walk and take it all in - the sights, sounds, smells, the ambiance - as well as the croissants, coffee, baguettes and wine. Sounds like an exemplary diet for the week, doesn't it?!! Staying open to whatever I'm meant to see, and do. Just try and experience whatever is

So after a 12 hour flight via Montreal, I am now in the heart of Paris. Got a bit lost on my way from the train station, but found myself in neighbourhoods filled with bakeries, fresh food markets, and an international array of great menus to try. I was helped out by a number of people on my trek into Paris, who were so patient and kind despite my halting French in asking for directions. I’m fading pretty fast! I still haven't figured out how to sleep on planes, but it's diff

Hello everyone! I trust this finds you all very well! A pretty full afternoon here in beautiful Paris - in the rain, in the sun. Jet lag hit quite hard so the morning was spent rising early then back to sleep for a time as the rain thundered down. Hard to enjoy time to the fullest if I’m dragging myself around and wishing I was back in bed! I met my “Bloody Paris Tour” group along the Seine in the area of Marais. Such a quaint, rustic and medieval area, known mostly as the Je

Hi everyone! A couple of busy days here in Paris so I haven’t had much time to write. It’s exhausting walking all day, drinking wine, eating great food, people watching and taking it all in. Yesterday, I decided to face my fears and checked out various stops on the subway system as I made my way to the Eiffel Tower. I made my first stop at Place d’Italie and was so thrilled that I did. The first thing I saw was a huge Italian mall which made me cringe - not my “thing” - but I

Bonjour tout le monde! A few busy days again as I gradually come to the end of my amazing journey here in Paris! Definitely need to make another trip to this great city. A week was certainly not long enough. I haven’t seen a lot of the many monuments and museums that may have been on my list, but what I have seen will be etched in my memory for so long to come...until the next time. Yesterday, I spent my morning with Jim Morrison and just a few thousand other souls at the Pè

So, sadly, this is my last post of my trip to Paris. I feel like I just arrived and yet at the same time, it seems like I have been here for such a long time. A truly outstanding city, breathtakingly beautiful, so vibrant and complex. I will certainly miss being here, but now that I know my way around, somewhat, I certainly won’t hesitate to jump on a plane and return when I have another chance. I have been helped out by so many on these streets as I have wandered around look
